Kachemak Bay Adventure Club

KBAC is an outdoor based summer camp in Homer, Alaska that helps children grow and connect with nature through play and Experiential Education.

KBAC programs aim to provide a safe and friendly place for children to thrive. Campers will learn about themselves, how to interact with others and nature, and how to follow their curiosity through play.

Camps will run on a weekly basis throughout the summer. Each day will have a set location for pick-up and drop off. Campers will be in charge of carrying their gear throughout the day as we adventure and play outdoors. Camps will run rain or shine.

Campers will spend the day outside from 9am to 4pm. They will enjoy structured activities such as nature art, field games, biking, and hiking. Some unstructured time will also be sprinkled in with clear boundaries and optimal time for exploring and personal growth. KBAC is open to kids ages 5 to 12 (see enrollment page for exceptions above age 12).

All about Molly - Nature guide and adventure extraordinaire

Hello, I’m Molly Liston and I’m so excited to relocate from Anchorage back to Homer. I spent many years living in Homer when I was younger and have kayak guided in Kachemak Bay along with visiting often to see family. My husband, Matt, began building us a cabin on the North Fork last summer and we managed to reach our goal of a standing structure by the end of the summer! My heart is calling me and my family back to Homer and we couldn’t be happier. I want my kids, Oakley and Huck, to experience the magic of Homer that I carry with me from my own childhood.

I love spending time outside and bring with me over 20 years of experience working with children and teaching them how to create healthy habits for life. I love watching children's curiosity lead them in a direction of growth and exploration. I focus on Experiential and Outdoor Education as well as Social and Emotional learning. I love being creative to help build confidence and excitement in young learners.

I have certifications in Wilderness First Responder, Swiftwater Rescue, Avalanche Level 2, High and Low Ropes Courses Rescue Level 2, Bachelors in Outdoor Education and Physical Education, and experience guiding hiking, backpacking, kayaking, rafting, ice climbing, and glacier travel. I’ve taken students of all ages into the backcountry of Alaska and have especially loved my time on many trips into the Brooks Range. I am currently the Physical and Outdoor Education teacher at Pacific Northern Academy in Anchorage and have been in this position since 2014. Watch out Homer because we are headed your way this summer!
